Carles Mayor Arnold Betita II received a check worth P6 million from the Iloilo provincial government as support to the disaster preparedness, mitigation, and response programs of the municipality.
Vice Governor Lee Ann Debuque who is also the OIC-governor and Provincial Administrator Raul Banias turned over the check to Mayor Betita today, November 7.
The assistance underscores the province’s commitment to safeguarding coastal communities amid frequent typhoons and natural disasters. Carles, being a coastal municipality, is susceptible to disasters, particularly storm surge.
