The 3-Day Capability Enhancement Training on Airport Interdiction was conducted on November 11–13, 2025, at the Park Inn by Radisson Hotel, Iloilo City.
The activity was organized by the Western Visayas Airport Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group (WV-AIDITG) in partnership with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Regional Office VI and the Iloilo Provincial Government.
The training was aimed at strengthening the competencies of airport-based personnel and partner agencies in detecting and preventing the transport of illegal drugs through airport facilities. It also provided updated strategies, operational protocols, and inter-agency coordination mechanisms to enhance the region’s overall airport interdiction efforts.
As part of the opening program, Dr. Raul Banias delivered a message on behalf of Governor Arthur R. Defensor, Jr., expressing full support for the initiative and underscoring the administration’s commitment to intensifying anti-drug efforts in the province.
This activity forms part of the ongoing interventions of the Iloilo Provincial Government, through the Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Council (PADAC), in pursuit of achieving a drug-free Iloilo. (Mary Rose Matucan/PPDO)
