The Iloilo Provincial Government, through Provincial Administrator Dr. Raul N. Banias and Provincial Government Environment and Natural Resources Office (PGENRO) chief Cesar Emmanuelle P. Buyco, Jr., released P3.2 million to the municipality of Tigbauan for the installation of a 60 kW Grid-Tie Rooftop Solar PV System at their Municipal Building.
The amount is sourced from Gov. Arthur Defensor’s renewable energy subsidy fund.
The check was received by Tigbauan Municipal Mayor Virgilio T. Teruel, Municipal Treasurer Elma G. Tionsay, EEC Officer Jay Tilos, and EEC Office staffs Sheena Marie Engallado and Clairedane Tubonggan as facilitated by PGENRO-EEC Desk representatives Rey Victor P. Garin and Leiden Lyka V. Anonoy.
The RE fund transfer serves as a financial aid to local government units for the completion of their proposed renewable energy projects – a main component to ensure compliance with the Government Energy Management Program (GEMP) under Republic Act 11285 known as the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Act of 2019.
