Gov. Toto Defensor hosted a dinner at Tatoy’s Atria for DBM Secretary Rolando Toledo and fellow DBM officials last Tuesday, February 17. It was an evening of great food and even better conversation as they strengthened the partnership between the Province of Iloilo and the national government.
Key discussions include collaborative talks on streamlining our provincial fiscal processes and moving forward with our Local Government Support Fund (LGSF) applications.
Governor Toto officially submitted a request regarding the ₱196M RTF-ELCAC fund. These funds were returned due to implementation challenges caused by the isolated nature of the project sites and the relatively small project costs.
The evening wasn’t all business! As it turns out, both Secretary Toledo and Governor Toto share a common “home base” in Fairview, Quezon City. The table was filled with laughter as they swapped stories about the infamous Manila traffic and their shared experiences living in the metro.
Also joining them at the dinner are Provincial Administrator Raul Banias, Provincial Legal Officer Atty. Dennis, Provincial Budget Officer Dr. Mitchelene Resano, Provincial Treasurer Jean Maire Umadhay. And Provincial Population Officer Atty. Ruel Von Superio.
We are grateful to Sec. Toledo, the DBM national officials, and our Regional Director for the visit. Here’s to continued collaboration for the people of Iloilo!
